I came across a signboard at Shama Chowk, with picture of an innocent angel, Imanae! But I was shocked to read what was written on it………I could not myself from stop feeling intesse remorse. May her soul rest in peace! My sympathies are with her parents.

Like other comments here, I also believe that the gap between 'Haves and Have Nots' is causing fissures in our society. These septic cuts will grow deeper and get worse if we keep on ignoring the highlighted root causes. I believe that we all should start (as soon as possible) thinking with a socialist’s mind. Being a non-doctor I have respect for those who are in Medical Profession as God has given them limited authorization to intervene human life for a good cause - for saving life. I believe that serious thought and action should be initiated at the social level for ethical medical and health care sooner than later.

The multiple issues as discussed around the saddest incident of death of an innocent human being keep hitting us every day. It only happens in societies where ethical values are deteriorated and there is uneven distribution of resources like in our society. One common law punish someone for stealing a piece of bread but that law can not catch the big corrupts who violates this law so frequently. So the regulatory laws or policies are implemented in a selective or discriminatory manner. So laws should be non discriminatory in itself but at the same time, implementers should exercise it in a non discriminatory manner.

Regarding the implementation of medical ethics we observe a wide range of discriminatory behaviours exercised by the doctors, clients and their families. It is a common behaviour among majority of the people to break the que and approach the doctor directly on the basis of some personal links with him/her. Others remaining in que keep watching this behaviour but never expressed our anger by complaining it even to the doctor. What prevents us doing so?. Expressing our response to the discriminatory attitudes and behaviours is the first step to do. The other step is to overcome our desire of being different from others, desire of being treated prefrentially, desire of being looked at more respectfully than others etc etc. If we identify where we are, then we will be able to stand in the que at a public hospital quite comfortably and waiting for our turn. The doctor at the same time must have to promote equality and justice at the same time.Withese behaviours, the requlatory laws and policies would be implemented more effectively.

Being a part of community and being a father of two children. I personally feel bad and sorry for the parents of Imanae. But this death provides us an opportunity to WAKE UP and DO SOMETHING against the high charging hospitals / clinics, where we pay big amounts and getting this kind of results like Imanae’s death. We should stand against these kind of criminal act, the parents, family members and friends playing their role and protesting against this criminal act of Doctor’s Hospital not to get revenge of Imanae’s death, BUT TO SAVE hundreds and thousands children like Imanae’s. Now ball in Government’s court and we are waiting for the JUSTICE.

We should support our Publice Health Facilities to get better results and discourage high charging Health facilities. So everyone can get good health facilities without any discrimination.

GOD Bless Imanae’s Parents / family members, my special prayers for Imanae’s that may God give peace to her soul AMEN

I was shocked when I heard about this bad incident firstly by Dr. Zafar. I go in to old days when I was ill and consulting highly paid doctors (so call professor) in Lahore. I was really depressed by their behavior. My brother is also a doctor and so many times we had heated discussion on moral ethics in medical profession. For the last five years I change my perceptions about the doctors. I think they have less feeling of humanity as compared to social scientist because doctor always deal human in pieces like heart, kidney, bones etc specialist while social scientist deal with human being in totality.
Definitely, we should boycott these butchers who are responsible to take bad name of those doctors who are serving the humanity with cause. I am 100 % agreed with the idea to opt for public sector and encourage them. At the same time there should be some pre-requisite for private hospital registration and renewal system. There should be some standard and monitoring mechanism with classical theory of punishment & reward.
Or Govt should take strict action to make separate arrangement for private practitioner. The Doctors in Public should be banned for private sector and Private should not allow working in Govt. hospital.

Imanae' death is very tragic and we all are with the grieved parents in these sad moments But does this story end here ???? would it not go on and on ??? I agree totally to this statement that this is not the first mishap nor it would be the last until and unless we take measure to bring it to an end. We need to stregthen our public hospitals in several ways as indicated above and in addititon to these many other option could be chalked out. This is very true that now a days public hosipital are equipped with more faciltities and with more trained and expert human resources with an increased sense of accountability than those of in the private hospitals But we take it as a pride to go and seek medical care in the private hospitals for so many reason namely (1) I can afford very expensive fee so it is my privilege to seek expensive medical care, (2) this is against my social and economic status to go to public hospitals and wait in que for my turn with other poor and needy people, (3) quality health care is available only at exorbitant private hospitals and so on. There is dire need to chanhge our mindset and also at the same time,a culture of social justice, equity and respect to everyone need to be developed at public hospitals irresepctive of financial and social status, gender, religion, ethnicity and any other kind of discrimination. Let’s all promise to work honestly and dedicatedly wherever working to halt these mishaps in future.
